iPodder

Podcasting seems to be a web revolution: more and more podcasts are made available, and more and more people download them!

You can find podcasts about almost everything: Sci-Fi stories, Linux, Web, … and radio programs.

In Belgium, the RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge Francophone) just launched their podcasts, featuring their top radio programs from their different radios: Classic 21 (focussed on Classic Rock), Pure FM (more modern stuff), la Première (if you like “Le Jeu des Dictionnaires”…), etc.

I especially like the “Making Off” and “Allo C’est moi” programs from Classic 21, and the DVD and Cinema reviews from Pure FM.

To keep track of new podcast, and to download them easily, I use iPodder, a simple Podcast Receiver:

iPodder

The new name of this program is Juice, but it’s still known as iPodder in the Ubuntu Repository, and in Gentoo Portage (still hard masked though…).
You can easily add podcast feeds, schedule updates and downloads, and other stuff I didn’t have time to figure out yet :-).

Apple Seed

I went to Lille this week-end, for a kind of shopping trip ;-). Lille is full of nice shops, going from the small gadget shop in the old city (very cute part of the city) to the Fnac or “Le furet du Nord”. In some multimedia shop, I heard some heavy action sound coming out a dark room. I took a look, and saw the trailer of one of the most beautiful animation movie I’ve ever seen: Apple Seed.

Apple Seed - Deunan

The trailer was excessively impressive, and so is the entire movie! It’s the story of some Artificial Intelligence called Gaia (hum… like in Final Fantasy ???) controlling bioroids: human clones without feelings, reproductive skills, …They were created to stop the human killing nature: war, murders, … Without feelings, no hate.

Deunan Kute, the heroin, was still fighting a war in a devastated world, unaware it has already ended, when she got captured by some heavy armed soldiers. She woke up in a super-modern city, and realized it was her old friend that took her out of the war. She joined the ESWAT: the elite police force, and…

Just get the movie if you are interested in the end of the story 😛

Flickr

I’ve heard about flickr some months ago, had a look at it, but I never took a second to sign up. Now it’s actually done!

I decided to open an account there to post some pictures, and see what happens. I don’t think I’ll leave my pictures page away in favor of flickr, just because I don’t want to upload all my old pics. I’ll just upload some pictures on a regular basis.

As you may see, I’ve integrated a small plugin that displays my 4 last pics. Just take a look at the right content bar.
